Popcorn News!!!

Posted on Nov 18 2017 - 8:07pm

Thank you to all the families who sold popcorn this year! This is the pack's ONLY fundraiser and an important one to fund our activites and keep our dues down. Combining "Take Orders", "Site Sales" and "Online sales" the pack sold $11,330 in popcorn products!!! Our top sellers were #1 ~ Nicky Belt who sold $6,135 (and earned a college scholarship as well as an IPad and other prizes), #2 ~ Mason Malone who sold $945, #3 ~ Jake Lopez who sold $845 and #4 ~ Lucas Holliman who sold $710! All four Scouts in addition to their prizes earned gift cards from Trails End Popcorn for either the Scout Shop or WalMart. Remember for those that have a balance due on their popcorn order, the last day to turn in the money is Monday November 27 at the Ruygt's 11603 Prospect Hill Drive (Comstock Village) 916-635-5158..

Update Your Information with the Pack

Posted on Nov 18 2017 - 7:42pm

As we recharter Pack 281 for 2018 we need each family to check the information on the pack website to make sure your address, phone numbers and email is correct. If there are any changes that need to be made or you need the log on information please email membership chair Elizabeth Ruygt at goldrivmom@comast.net. This is also a good time to add additional emails if there is another family member who would like to receive the e-blast or other Pack 281 notices.

Dragon Patrol Bridging Ceremony

Posted on Nov 18 2017 - 7:40pm

You are cordially invited to attend the Arrow of Light/Bridging ceremony for our Webelos II Scouts on December 1 at 6:00 PM in the MP room at GRDC.  The Arrow of Light is the highest award in Cub Scouts and we congratulate the Dragon Patrol on this accomplishment. Join us in celebrating the Scouts accomplishments and watch as they say farewell to Cub Scouts and the pack as they cross the bridge to be welcomed by the troop they have selected to continue in as a Boy Scout. Please RSVP and let us know in the "notes" section the total # of other family members/friends so we can get an accurate headcount for refreshments after the ceremony.

Webelos Open House at Troop 380

Posted on Nov 4 2017 - 2:42pm

On Monday November 6 at 7 PM Webelos and their parents are invited to come check out Troop 380 at their open house located at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 9350 Kiefer Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95826. There will be an outdoor Boy Scout activity if you need this for one of your Arrow of Light requirements. This is your opportunity to see all T380's equipment including camping gear, troop trailers and canoes and learn about all the amazing opportunities that your Scout can have with the troop. Some activities that took place this past year included a spring road trip to Bryce and Zion National Parks, Camp Merriweather in Oregon, snorkeling at Sea Base in Florida, camping in Yosemite and other locations and taking part in the National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia. Future plans include Camp Cody outside of Yellowstone National Park next summer, spring road trip to the Grand Canyon, future summer camp in Hawaii and a canoe adventure at Northern Tier a BSA high adventure base in Minnesota and Canada. Girls and boys 9th grade or older can also come to the open house and visit Venturing Crew 380 to hear about the opportunities open to them. Check out Troop 380's website at www.T380.org or read their recent newsletter at http://t380.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/The-Eagle-V173.pdf
