Due Today (12/31/21) - Annual Pack Dues and Registration

Posted on Dec 30 2021 - 10:47pm
Just a friendly reminder to submit your annual pack dues Today (12/31/21)! If you are unable to pay the full amount due or need to wait until after the 1st of the month, I totally understand and can be flexible. I just ask that you communicate that to me so I can make a note. It would also be super helpful if you could take a moment to register your child via this survey link here, so that I know for sure they will be continuing and if you wish for them to have the scout's life subscription.

Pinewood Derby 2022

Posted on Dec 20 2021 - 10:01pm
Good Evening Pack 281 Families,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Holiday Caroling, it was a fun time and we had a great turnout! A special thanks to our Wolf Den Leaders, Erica Hung and Terri Palomba for coordinating this event.

Pack Dues and Registration

Posted on Dec 20 2021 - 3:07pm

 Good evening Pack 281 Families,

The end of the year is fast approaching, and it's time to "recharter" for the 2022 scouting year. What this means is that it's time to renew your child's membership with Boy Scouts of America (BSA) as well as pay Pack dues.

In addition to the annual BSA membership, each Cub Scout Pack collects annual dues which pay for all awards and advancements (typically 7-8 per year), some pack events (i.e., pinewood derby) and other misc. pack expenses (i.e., insurance, leader fees etc...). We often plan additional events throughout the year as well, such as Blue & Gold celebration, camping, hikes, and pack graduation which will usually have an additional cost or could be paid for by the pack depending on how successful fundraising efforts were during the year.

The amount due per child for the 2022 scouting year is listed below.

Good Evening Pack 281 Families!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoying their December so far!

Here are some important events and information I would like to share with you.

December Leaders & Parent Meeting - We have a Pack 281 Leader & Parent meeting tomorrow night, Monday 12/6 @ 6:00pm via Microsoft Teams. If you can attend, that would be great, as it's a time to ask questions and share what is going on with the dens/pack. Den Leaders, please be prepared to share what your den has been working on (if anything) since our last meeting and/or what you have planned in the coming month. Here is the link to the meeting. https://teams.live.com/meet/93935237646087

December Den Meetings - Our next Den meetings will be this Wednesday, December 8th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the GRDC Multi. This time, each den will branch off with their own respective den to do activities led by their den leaders, We will save some time at the end (7:15-7:30) to join as a pack to share pack level informatin and hand out some awards earned from the last meeting.  Please rsvp in your respective calendar invite on www.pack281.net, so your den leaders can plan accordingly.

Tiger Den Holiday Sock Drive - All of Pack 281 is invited to participate in the Tiger Den's service project, a sock drive for those experiencing homelessness. If you would like to participate, please bring a package (or more) of new socks (kids, adults, men, women) to the 12/8 den meeting or the 12/10 holiday caroling. You can view the flier here

Pack Holiday Caroling – Our traditional pack Holiday Caroling is taking place this Friday, December 10, 2021 in the Gold River Shopping Center. This event is a fan favorite with the scouts and their families as well as the business patrons! We will meet at Blaze Pizza, in front of the Christmas tree at 6:00pm for a group photo. We will begin our caroling in front of Blaze, proceed across the parking to Bel-Air and then work our way down the store fronts, finishing at Starbucks. Starbucks is donating hot chocolate and Bel-Air is donating cookies for our scouts to enjoy at the end of our performance. Please dress in your Class “A” Uniform and festive holiday accents. We will provide a song list and lyrics to all families ahead of the event for those interested in practicing. Thank you to Terri Palomba and Erica Hung for coordinating this fun event. We have decided not to plan a fundraiser night at this time.

See's Candy Fundraiser - Thank you to those who participated in the See's Candy fundraiser. We were able to raise a few funds for the pack and any little bit helps.
