April Pack Meeting - Friday, 4/15 6:30-7:30 PM "Helpful - Cubs in Action"

Posted on Apr 8 2016 - 7:15pm

Join us for this month's Pack Meeting on Friday, April 15th from 6:30-7:30 PM.  Our theme is:  "Helpful - Cubs in Action."  It is never too early in our lives to begin helping other people. Scouting has promoted being helpful to others since it began in 1907 in England. Being helpful to others is what William D. Boyce experienced one foggy night in London, when a Scout helped him find his way. Boyce was so impressed that the Scout helped him and refused a reward that he incorporated the Scouting program in America in 1910.  A loud ROAR of thanks to all Scouts and families who helped us with Creek Week and Scouting for Food!

Posted on Apr 1 2016 - 2:34pm

Scouting for Food - April 10th 11 AM-4 PM - Come help for a few hours!  Pack 281 will hold its 22nd annual "Scouting for Food" event. Joining us will be Scouts from other units as we knock on doors in Gold River collecting non perishable food items that will be donated to the Cordova Food Locker. The food locker serves homeless and needy families in the area and is greatly appreciative of the contribution the pack makes to the community. Scouts are asked to be in Class A uniforms and it is helpful if they carry a reusable bag to fill. Parents can pull a wagon to collect the cans as you go through a village.  Volunteer a couple of hours or as many hours as they can. Please RSVP on the Pack Website. Questions?
