Racers...Start Your Engines...Pinewood Derby is Friday!

Get Ready to Race! Pack 281 Pinewood Derby - Friday, January 27, 2017 6:00-7:30 PM @ GRDC! This Year's Categories:Star Wars, It's a Campout (nature theme), My Favorite Food, I Love Disney! (Disneyland or any related Disney movie), Let's Fly (anything that flies...plane, bird, insect...). Get your creativity on and design your car.  Things to know: All cars must not weigh over 5 ounces! Please be sure to read the Official Rules/Specifications inside your kit. Please arrive by 6 PM to get your car checked in! Check In: 6-6:20; Judging & Advancements: 6:20-6:30; Races Begin: 6:30 PM.  PWD Cafe will be open and selling the "Graphite Special" - 1 slice of pizza, a piece of fruit, 1 bottle of water - $1!

Blue and Gold Celebration - Please RSVP by 2/1! Need accurate headcount!

Hear ye! Hear ye! We kindly request your presence on February 17, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the GRDC MP room for our annual Blue and Gold Celebration - the Cub Scout Birthday party! The theme of this year's celebration will be Knights of the Round Table. The celebration will include dinner (potluck, featuring utensil-free eating) and many knightly activities.  Please RSVP by February 1 so that we have a headcount for planning purposes.

If you need help getting your car cut out, bring it to the PWD Clinic.  Draw the shape you would like to have your car, and have it cut!carPower tools will be provided. Dec., 16th Pack Meeting/Holiday Caroling

December Pack Meeting/Holiday Caroling in the Gold River Towne Centre - Friday, December 16th 6-7 PM.  Meet in Class A uniforms in front of Hallmark. All boys and family members are encouraged to wear a Santa hat! :)  The boys will be treated with a free hot cocoa at Starbuck's!  Thanks to Royce and Molly for organizing this event!! What is Camp Lassen?
Camp Lassen is a Scout Camp owned and operated by the Golden Empire Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The camp is located 45 minutes east of Chico in Northern California and about 60 miles from the famous Lassen Volcanic National Park. Set amongst California's wooded Sierra foothills, there are few places as beautiful as Camp Lassen. Action-packed yearly-themed activities include: campcraft, nature, handicraft, boating, swimming, fitness, archery, BB gun shooting, campfires, stargazing and much more. Our Cub Scouts have made incredible memories at Camp Lassen over the years!  We will find out this year's theme soon!
Dates: July 16-19, 2017
Cost:   Youth $200, Adults $200 (additional cost for Camp Lassen T-shirt is $12-15) A $50 per/person, non-refundable deposit is due to Louise by Friday, December 9th.  Checks payable to Pack 281 can be delivered or mailed to me at 2112 Dry Diggins Way, GR, 95670.  
Suggested Payment Schedule:  You can either pay entire balance at once or on a payment schedule.
$50 per/person non-refundable deposit due by Friday, December 9. 
$50 per/person due at the January 27th Pinewood Derby Pack Meeting.
$50 per/person due at the February 17th Blue and Gold Celebration.
Final balance due at the March 24th Pack Meeting.

Cyber Chip and Duty to God

Dragon Patrol:  Please complete your Cyber Chip this month.  Each year, the boys must renew their Cyber Chip.Your son can access the information for 4th graders at:  http://www.netsmartz.org/scouting Please email Louise or Wendy when your son has completed this Webelos requirement.  Also, if your son completed his Webelos Duty to God and You Adventure, please be sure to email Louise or Wendy. The Game Design Adventure goes well with Cyber Chip.  If your son would like to complete the Game Design Adventure with you this month - please have fun with this and let us know if he completes it.
